Brain Injury Fundamentals
February 12, 2019 | NWRESD, Hillside Room  |  8:00 am to 4:00 pm

This one-day comprehensive course covers an overview of brain injury and cognition; developing effective interaction skills and addressing behavioural concerns; common physical and medical issues following brain injury; best practices for medication management; and impact of brain injury on the family.  An on-line, open-book format post-test will be provided allowing participants to earn a certificate of completion.


      Sherry Stock, ABD/PhD, CBIST, has more than 15 years experience in the brain injury field.  She is the Executive Director of the Brain Injury Alliance (BIAOR) the only statewide, nonprofit organisation dedicated to the mission of creating a better future for people with traumatic brain injury and their families through prevention, research, education, and advocacy.


      This course is for licensed and classified staff, who support students with brain injury.


      Registration Details

      Registration deadline: 1/22/2019  |  Meeting Flyer 

      Registration Cost: $250.00/per person | Includes meeting materials, exam, and lunch (working).  Laptop required. 

      Payment Options:

      1. Request sponsorship by completing the sponsorship request form. There are funds available to cover a limited number of educators working in Columbia, Clatsop, and Tillamook counties.  The form must be completed first and approved before registering.

      2. Districts and ESDs can be invoiced directly for staff who attend.

      3. PayPal payments accepted.  Please complete at check-out. PayPal account is not required. 

      4. NWRESD employees can request use of their HR Conference Dollars.  Please complete the Conference Attendance Request form located within Frontline Education.  Please do not register for the training until you receive your approval confirmation from HR!  Once received, you can register yourselfplease do not forget to do so, as you will not automatically be registered.  Please send a copy of your HR approval confirmation to D. Farrar when received.

      Your registration will reflect "awaiting payment" until NWRESD staff manually updates the record.

      Cancellation Policy:

      Registrations once made cannot be cancelled or refunded.  Please read eligibility requirements carefully as there will be no exceptions to this policy, as we have to commit to a certain number for training.
