Preschool-Elementary Consistency of Implementation: An Advanced Workshop on ABA & Evidence-Based Strategies
February 15, 2019 at NWRESD from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

This one-day workshop is designed for pre-school, elementary, or middle school staff currently implementing ABA and evidence-based practices using the STAR curriculum with students.  Participants should have already attended a two-day workshop on the STAR Program or have had extensive experience implementing the program.  Attendees will receive consistency of implementation training on the following instructional strategies:

  • Teaching functional routines.
  • Pivotal response training.
  • Discrete trial training.
  • Behavior intervention and supports as used in the STAR Program.
  • Initial and on-going assessment of student skills using the STAR Student Learning Profile will be addressed.

Oregon Program Autism Training Sites (OrPATS) and NWRESD support staff.

Additional Information

-This free workshop is being provided by funding from OrPATS and is co-sponsored by Northwest Regional ESD. 

-ODE grant funding is available for reimbursement of staff substitute pay to cover attendance at OrPATS training.  This request must be approved prior to the start of the workshop.  With limited funding, approval will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

-A total of 6 PDUs will be awarded for attendance.

-Light snacks will be provided, along with coffee and tea, before and after lunch.

-Lunch will be on your own.  The attached food map shows local restaurants and where food can be purchased for lunch.

-Conference room temperatures can vary throughout the day, therefore, we recommend that you wear layers.
