OIS Recertification Workshop (OIS-R)

Instruction By: Cathy Jensen, Coordinator Autism, NWRESD

Workshop Purpose: 

This training is for those who have been previously certified in OIS and will expire soon.  We will review positive behaviors supports, evasions, deflections, escapes, and belt-shirt techniques. Those who need additional training in protective physical interventions, such as one or two-person restraints, will need to submit an individualized behavior support plan prior to attending.  The re-certification is good for two years.  Please eMail Cathy Jensen if you have questions about who is eligible for the re-certification workshop.

For staff who need OIS-IF (Individual Focus) level certification, we will also train the advanced holds needed for those identified students.  A Behavior Support Plan is needed for IF Certification.  Please contact Cathy Jensen for questions about the G and IF level certification levels.

Meeting Details

Cost: $50.00/per person

Lunch: On your own.  We will decide as a group whether to have a short lunch and finish a little early or have a longer lunch.  Please plan to either bring a lunch or quickly leave and return.

Attire: Please dress comfortably.  Pants, t-shirts, and jeans are acceptable.  Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes that lace or buckle.

Bring to Workshop: For IF-Level Certification, please bring a copy of a current behavior support plan for a student requiring restraint or seclusion.

Important Note!  In order to be certified, attendees must be present for the entire training.

3. NWRESD - May use HR dollars: Must get HR approval before registering.

Your registration will reflect "awaiting payment" until a NWRESD staff member manually updates the record.


Cancellation Policy:

Registrations cancelled on or prior to 10/3/2017 will be refunded 100%.

Registrations cancelled on or after 10/4/2017 will not be refunded.


Open to any school district or NWRESD staff member.
