Mental Health Summit - WA County

Presented By: WA County Mental Health support services, various agencies, school districts, and NWRESD

Meeting Purpose: The Mental Health Summit will provide attendees from all seven school districts and the NWRESD with up-to-date information on how school professionals can help youth and families access mental health services in Washington County.  The day will begin with an overview on how to access general mental health services for both area coordinated care organizations (Health Share and Family Care). Then crisis services, area outpatient mental health providers, and a variety of specific mental health programs will be highlighted.  General information regarding the program services, eligibility, referral processes, and any costs will be covered.  In addition, four break-out sessions will be offered, with the ability to attend two. The day will end with a discussion on district needs assessment.

Attendees should gain knowledge regarding the mental health services system in Washington County and how to help families access the various services and programs provided. Specific contact information and pertinent materials and brochures will be available for future reference by participants.  The information provided is appropriate for anyone working in school districts likely to refer families to mental health services, such as school district care coordinators, school counselors, school psychologists, SPED case managers, appropriate administrators/teachers, homeless liaisons, staff who work with migrant and immigrant families, etc.
